What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? It is to follow His teachings, keep His commandments and serve our fellowman. A few lines from my favorite hymn read:
More fit for the kingdom,
More used would I be,
More blessed and Holy—
More, Savior, like thee.
His is the perfect example. Sincere prayers are answered, hearts can be softened, and the weight of burdens lifted through our simple acts of unselfish service given to others. Service is the road which leads to true discipleship, and peace and love are found in that journey. It is then we can claim with utmost confidence and with a surety we know Him, the only true and living God.
